Everyone is Welcome!

At Woodford International School (WIS), we know that choosing the best educational setting for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make for your family. WIS is the top educational choice in the Solomon Islands. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and certified Cambridge Curriculum school, we offer:

  • Primary Years Programme (PYP): Early Years (Kindergarten) - Year 5

  • Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme: Year 6 - Year 8

  • Cambridge IGCSE: Year 9 - Year 10

  • Cambridge International AS/A levels and/or Solomon Islands SIF6C and SIForm 7: Year 11 - Year 12

Admission to WIS is non-discriminatory and open to all students without regard to race, sex, religion, physical ability, or national or ethnic origin. We invite applications from students who can benefit from an international, university preparatory English language education.

We accept students who can be successful in the daily academic programme, provided there is space available in the grade. In addition, we offer appropriate student-centred instruction for students with identified mild to moderate learning needs through our Student Support Services.

Whether you are currently living in Honiara or relocating from another province or country, we are here to help you through the inquiry and application process. Please view the
WIS Admissions Policy in order to make an informed decision. Application forms can be collected from our main office or downloaded here.

To discuss a potential application, please email communication@wis.edu.sb or call +(677) 30186.

Our enrollment involves three stages:

  1. Application
All new and prospective students are to fill out the appropriate admission form accompanied by proof of date of birth (certificate or passport), the last two school reports for students applying to enter year 1 or above, and the required application fee of SBD $1,500. Application forms can be picked up in our main office or
downloaded here. In cases where an enrollment offer is not taken up or deferred, no refund will be provided and a new application and fee will be required.

  2. Placement Test
In some circumstances after the submission of all application materials, we may require the completion of a placement test to help us get a fuller picture into a child’s individual learning needs or specific content proficiency.

  3. Interview and Review
Upon submission and collation of all appropriate information, the respective Principal or Coordinator may set up a time to interview the student and family. The Head of School will receive the final dossier to sign off before notice is given to the family.

Woodford and the challenging curriculum has been a great learning journey for me. It has broadened my knowledge in a lot of concepts and has allowed me to apply what I have learnt in the classroom to real life situations outside.”
