Explore Woodford International School
We are well aware that finding the right school for your children can be difficult. This is especially true for those of you who are either new to the Solomon Islands or indeed new to sending your children to school. However, whatever the difficulties, we are sure you all share with us the belief that the academic success of your children, their overall welfare and their happiness, are what really matters. Here at Woodford, we strive in a safe and nurturing environment, to combine these aims by making rigorous education fun but not frivolous.
Our vision is clear, we seek globally ready learners, daring to dream, confident to act, empowered to achieve. We try to bring out the artist in your child not just in the field of the arts but in all they do. Creativity, enthusiasm, and enjoyment will allow Woodford students to go just that little bit further. They will achieve the confidence to speak out, to perform and to meet challenges. They will develop their imagination to see local and global issues through different lenses with a truly global perspective.

My daughter- Shawntellah Maiap- started school at Woodford at Yr5 in 2012 and continued until Year10 in 2017 (6 years). In 2018, she went off to boarding school in Cairns, Australia to do years 11 and 12 at Mount St Bernard College, located an hour’s drive out of Cairns city. Shawntellah has finally completed her year 12 last year (2019) at the College, and not just that but she graduated top of her class by taking out all top awards in 6 of her 7 subjects and also taking out the 2019 Dux of the Year award at the school with an OP6 overall mark (Australian Std). Before that, she was the runner up overall in year 11 but managed to work hard and made Dux in year 12. Have attached a couple of Photos from her Year12 award ceremony. Following that, she has been accepted to 4 Universities in Australia (UQ, Griffiths & QUT-all in Brisbane and La Trobe in Melbourne) to do double degrees in Law and Business. She has decided to take up the QUT offer and will be travelling there next month. Woodford International School has played a vital part in contributing to Shawntellah’s achievements by setting her foundation to set goals and study hard- and also providing a superb education environment and most importantly supplying her with great teachers. Therefore, Woodford has to be given credit for my daughters story, as it gave her the tools and belief to ‘stand equal’ with the rest of the world –so to speak-and do well. So thank you very much Woodford! Though it has it’s challenges, Shawntellah’s story is prove that Woodford is a great school!
Wishing You all a very Promising 2020 and beyond!
